What Ted Kennedy Wants, Ted Kennedy Gets
Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA), the only sitting US Senator who has murdered someone, has sunk to a new low...even for him.
From the Wall Street Journal:
Senator Ted Kennedy, who is gravely ill with brain cancer, has sent a letter to Massachusetts lawmakers requesting a change in the state law that determines how his Senate seat would be filled if it became vacant before his eighth full term ends in 2012. Current law mandates that a special election be held at least 145 days after the seat becomes available. Mr. Kennedy is concerned that such a delay could leave his fellow Democrats in the Senate one vote short of a filibuster-proof majority for months while a special election takes place.
Harmless enough, right? Read on:
What Mr. Kennedy doesn't volunteer is that he orchestrated the 2004 succession law revision that now requires a special election, and for similarly partisan reasons. John Kerry, the other Senator from the state, was running for President in 2004, and Mr. Kennedy wanted the law changed so the Republican Governor at the time, Mitt Romney, could not name Mr. Kerry's replacement. "Prodded by a personal appeal from Senator Edward M. Kennedy," reported the Boston Globe in 2004, "Democratic legislative leaders have agreed to take up a stalled bill creating a special election process to replace U.S. Senator John F. Kerry if he wins the presidency." Now that the state has a Democratic Governor, Mr. Kennedy wants to revert to gubernatorial appointments.
God bless 'em.

I feel bad for TK as he is dying from Brain cancer, and I wish that on no one except perhaps those who are part of Islamofacism and terrorists who terrorize any free nation, country or state on the globe. TK is one I respect ONLY because of a life time of service to this country. It stops there. He is one of the worst politicians that we have ever had and his manipulation of politics is dispicable and self serving to him and those fellow leftoon moonbats who support him. He is guilty of murder as far as I am concerned and his 'Kennedy' name has allowed gross staus and privlege his entire life. Even as his flame is going out he is trying to serve up some stew that will be known as part of his legacy and effect politics for years to come, in a negative way.

I won't get into the alleged murder because I don't think we'll agree. But as for his request to the State Legislator, I'd like to mention a few things.
1. I'm a Massachusetts resident and I can tell you first hand, the Congress is a large collection of morons that few in the state actually agree with.
2. Kennedy shouldn't be blamed for the issue going on here. His request is valid and he wouldn't need to make it had the state democrats not attempted to prevent Governor Romney from appointing a replacement.
I don't blame people for thinking this is corrupted politics – because it is – but this time at least Kennedy's only making sure his constituents have their voices heard. Its only constitutional.
