Jeff, don’t capitulate to the Right. We don’t have to apologize for being happy that this blowhard lost his chance to own a football team. He’s an idiot and I believe a race-baiting partisan hack. If the NFL doesn’t want him, they don’t have to have him.

I cannot stand Rush’s show and find his views objectionable. But without question he should be able to be eligible to buy any business that will sell to him. The investment group he was a part of asked him to step down and eventually forced him to. Legally they had the right but the only reason they did it was because of the insane attacks on Mr. Limbaugh. The whole thing is a mess and I promise you the same thing would not have happened had it been Keith Olbermann or Chris Matthews trying to buy stake in a sports franchise. This makes things harder for real debates to take place, and I hope people on both sides of the aisle remember how silly this was in the future when the tables are turned.

I know Rush isn’t a racist, but I guess the whole point of this story is how much of a Rushist the media and most liberal Democrats are. For me, someone who doesn’t listen to Rush all that much (I prefer Medved and Mike Gallager), the key to all of this is that Rush Limbaugh is a radio talk show host…he has no real power…there is no real reason for people to be freaking out. Conservatives like me are worried about Obama’s terrible policies, and rightly so, because he is Commander in Chief and his views are representative of all the leaders in Washington currently. We keep hearing how inconsequential and stupid Rush is…yet all the media does is talk about him and compare his influence to that of a president of the United States. That’s incredible to me and shows, in my mind, just how worried they are about Rush’s ability to effectively communicate opposition to Obama’s plan to change America.
