Sen. Olympia Snowe: Remember the name

Olympia-SnoweThe health care bill in the Senate is one step closer to passing.  This is a horrible mistake we're on the verge of making, and a Republican senator from Maine, Olympia Snowe, is on-board for the sinking of this economic Titanic.  Remember her name...because after her bid for re-election crashes-and-burns should she vote for this monstrosity, you might be the only one who does.

The thought of Obamacare is really what brought the American people out in droves to townhall meetings and Tea Parties across the country this past summer.  It was inspiring to see, and I was privileged to participate in a few different events in my own suburban Chicago area.  But NOW is the final push for a piece of legislation that will potentially forever alter the relationship between our government and "we the people."  The costs alone will bankrupt us.

This is such a serious matter and must not be reduced to a "what sounds more compassionate" argument.  Less than 10% of Americans are without insurance, and those issues can (and need to be) addressed.  This "Baucus Bill" is not the way.

  1. I burned this traitors name into my memory banks a very long time ago. She HAS voted for this disaster of epic proportions in healthcare along with the democrats. I view her as one of the umtimate traitors to true conservative values. Even as I sit here typing this, knowing tomorrow is my last day ay work and I will be eventually losing my insurance coverage except for Medicare(I am disabled and can oly tolerate part time work) I am NOT in favor of this health care reform as it now stands. So little being done about tort reform and other areas that need addressing. Yes, health care reforms are needed but doing it this way will bankrupt this country and make many of our citizens wards of the state.

They promise abortions will not be paid for with “federal” funds( what about State funds like here in Oregon where I reside) and they cannot guarantee us that ILLEGAL ALIENS will not suck this new system dry just they are doing right now under the current system. Those two issues are just the tip of the iceberg.

Thanks Olympia Snowe for just about helping ensure a severe set back to the future of this country. Obama, liar, thief, and the first mullah in the White House.
Pelosi, Reid, Cilnton I surely will not not forget them and the damages being waged upon the American people. Don’t forget Lindsay Graham as he proved once again how worthless he is when it comes to standing up for the average
    American.

  2. “Obama, liar, thief, and the first mullah in the White House” – This discredits everything you’ve just said. Every word you typed is now drenched in xenophobia, hatred, and irrational fear. If you have beef with the legislation (Like I do!), let it rest there…not upon projected fears produced by your own insecurities, prejudices, and sensationalistic rhetoric. KTHXBYE.

  3. Ya, I’m gonna have to say I’m with Bradford here. I dislike Obama’s political, cultural, and theological views more than most…but we don’t need to get nasty or imply that he is a closet Muslim. The health care plan/debacle is a wretched and horrible idea. THAT is the point here in this particular story. Oh, and Olympia Snowe is worthless as a Republican. That’s part of it too.

  4. Sorry to stray off topic here and will keep my temper and words in check. I mean no disrespect to those who post here or VIW. Noted and checked on my part.

What is “Mere Conservatism”?

The basic ideas, ideals, and values that generally define and characterize the central tenets of what today might be termed "modern conservative thought."

We believe that a proper understanding of history, economics, and theology leads to certain conclusions. Many of these are the same conclusions our Founding Fathers arrived at in constructing a "more perfect union."

All ideas and opinions are welcome; not all are correct.
