A Voice in the Wilderness In Defense of "Mere Conservatism"

24Dec/09Off

It’s on them now

pelosi-reid-iraq-billDemocrats have forced health care reform, and now they own it.  They did nothing to bring even one single Republican to their side.

But Harry Reid says he is not worried about any potential political backlash.  He and Speaker Pelosi are too busy ruining the country's economy and health care system behind closed doors to worry about political blow-back for Democrats in 2010.

Oh, and by the way, abortions will be paid for with your tax dollars in the current version of the bill.  Might want to call your senator and and congressmen if you happen to care about the rights of the unborn.

Pray for your country.  If President Obama signs any version of this monstrosity into law, America will be worse off.

Merry Christmas.

  1. What a joke. I’m a college freshman and in my AP Government class last year I was the sole conservative to fight with every other kid in my class who would through ideological backlash at me about how Obama is so great and how universal health care was so great.

I look at my AIM buddy list and I’m disgusted to think of what goes through these peoples heads.

Being from Connecticut even makes me further frustrated. The youth here think it was fine that Chris Dodd wrecked the economy with the subprime mortgage crisis, but they didn’t think it was okay for Joe Lieberman to hold up the health care bill for reasons that would inhibit the freedoms of the American people, further throw us in the hole and fund the murder of babies. Oh well. Puts a whole new spin on “Kids these days” eh?

  2. I like your style, Joe. Don’t lose hope. Keep reading. Keep debating. The Left isn’t evil…they’re just wrong.

What is “Mere Conservatism”?

The basic ideas, ideals, and values that generally define and characterize the central tenets of what today might be termed "modern conservative thought."

We believe that a proper understanding of history, economics, and theology leads to certain conclusions. Many of these are the same conclusions our Founding Fathers arrived at in constructing a "more perfect union."

All ideas and opinions are welcome; not all are correct.
