Personally, I have to say that we could use a little bit of conservatism in the economy. At the very least, what I would want in conservatism is just regulation of the money and how it's spent, particularly, I want it spent in ways that we create mroe permament jobs, or possibly go back into manufacturing.

That's just off the top of my head, mind you.

Not everyone working in the American intellectual community is a die-hard liberal. Conservatism still lives in the universities and colleges.

Great job explaining conservative economics Robby! I look forward to meeting Thursday and catching up. You also did a great job speaking at Acton. God is going to use you but watch out because you will have a target on your life-Satan does not appreciate order, clarity, honesty or any of the virtuous things that flow from the true God. I will be praying for you.

Superb and you are getting better with each issue on Mere Conservatism.
I love what you said about where we have learned most of what we have learned about "liberalism from liberals in our schools, universities, and media, but rarely do we have the opportunity to learn what conservatism truly is from actual conservatives." You are really breaking new ground here and in a new and fresh way. To eliminate the Lord, God from our history past, present and future is an error that we cannot afford to make. Your research and writing are
excellent RJ, really is fine stuff. Will be cross posted to my blog as always and thank you for the education and how theology ties in with all of this.

I think that belief in God is key to keeping our freedom as a nation. America is in dangerous territory because we now have a president that would like to totally eliminate God from the picture.

I say RJM in 2012.

Loved your speech at Acton. Very much enjoyed this piece as well. I will be interested to see what you have to say about things like scarcity and private property.

Your clarity is refreshing my young friend.

What an interesting concept you have going here! You really have taken tremendous strides as a writer/thinker/commentator in the last year. Rarely does someone even attempt to put ideas like this together, let alone succeed in making it coherent and teachable. I'll be interested to hear what other people think.
