A Voice in the Wilderness In Defense of "Mere Conservatism"

Dem on Dem Action

Rep. Eric Massa (D-NY) is being forced out of office today by the White House (and union supporters) because he does not support Obamacare.

Here is Massa, in his own words, explaining the bizarre pressure the current administration (namely, Rahm Emmanuel) has been putting on him.

  1. LOL!

What an incredible soundbite!!! I know this Massa guy is no angel himself, but Rahm and Axelrod terrify me. I love how when there are pushy, intimidating, masterminding political aides in a Republican’s White House they are called Darth Vader and lambasted in the media for being heavy-handed.

But now that those same Karl Rove-like aides are in a Dem’s White House, they are portrayed by the media as just hard-working, concerned, successful advisers.

  2. Massa is a clown, but I think there is more to this story than the mainstream media wants to admit (or cover). Why would a Democrat, even a nutty one on the verge of being forced out of office, not just blame Republicans? What would he have to gain by attacking his own side. The Dems are SO much more disciplined about always attacking the GOP. I think this is a bit of truth-telling from a loony Dem who is pissed he’s being “asked” to leave because of his opposition to health care “reform”.

What is “Mere Conservatism”?

The basic ideas, ideals, and values that generally define and characterize the central tenets of what today might be termed "modern conservative thought."

We believe that a proper understanding of history, economics, and theology leads to certain conclusions. Many of these are the same conclusions our Founding Fathers arrived at in constructing a "more perfect union."

All ideas and opinions are welcome; not all are correct.
