Obama’s Department of Agriculture: “We Did Enough” For The White Guy

Now I fully realize that public figures sometimes say things they don't mean while the cameras are rolling, but this latest clip that has surfaced from the Director of Rural Development in Georgia is highly offensive.

Does it even need to be said that had a white member of the Bush administration said anything resembling this nonsense to an all-white crowd of Republican voters in Georgia it would be front-page, wall-to-wall coverage for the rest of the year until the mid-term elections?

Where is the racial reconciliation we were promised from the Agent of Change during the 2008 presidential campaign?  President Obama and angry black liberals such as this federal official in Georgia have forgotten the dream of Martin Luther King, Jr. and it's sad to behold.

Of course racism is in the human heart of people from all ethnic groups, but if we can't publicly call black racists what they are, we will NEVER "move past" race in this country.

  1. Its somewhat unclear because the video is cut off, but isn’t the point of her story that its not about race its about class? I think this is a stupid way to view the world, but its definitely different than being a racist.

  2. She literally said “this white guy thought he was superior to me”…that is dealing with race.

  3. But isn’t she going on to tell the story about how that guy was also a jackass to the white person at some other department? That means that she’s saying he’s an ass not a racist. Just talking about race doesn’t make someone a racist, or Robby here would be a racist for writing this post (which he’s clearly not).

The point is that the video is hacked to pieces so we don’t have any context for the story nor do we know how the story actually ends. Let’s not jump to conclusions, people.

  4. Gordo-

Appreciate your thoughtful comments. I understand that Ms. Sherrod touched upon the fact that she eventually learned that “it’s more about class than race”…but she then had to instantly qualify her comments with “it’s still about race, don’t get me wrong.” Clearly this is about race for groups like the NAACP. The reason that it is also “all about class” is because Leftist groups like this are inherently Marxist at the top of their leadership structure. The average minority isn’t Marxist, but the average progressive-liberal leader of an activist group in modern America is.

Here’s an interesting interview with Andrew Breitbart I’d recommend to you for some further discussion of just how much about race this whole thing is.

Thanks again for commenting, and I basically agree with your point…but DO think that there is more racial elements involved here than you seem willing to admit.

    Keep posting!!!

  5. The left has done a wonderful job of obfuscating the point that Andrew was trying to get across by showing this video. The point was the audiences reaction to what she said about mistreating the white farmer. The same crowd branding others as racist.

But this woman showed her true colors when she accused anyone who opposed the current administration of advocating a return of slavery. In that moment she lost all the creditability she once had in my book. She is a bigot pure and simple, in her own words.

What is “Mere Conservatism”?

The basic ideas, ideals, and values that generally define and characterize the central tenets of what today might be termed "modern conservative thought."

We believe that a proper understanding of history, economics, and theology leads to certain conclusions. Many of these are the same conclusions our Founding Fathers arrived at in constructing a "more perfect union."

All ideas and opinions are welcome; not all are correct.
