The RJ Moeller Show: Episode XV

This week we present you with a very special day-after-Memorial Day edition of The RJ Moeller Show.  Sitting in with R.J. was Matt and Brandon, and the three mulled over Memorial Day reflections, ripped the mainstream media for remaining largely silent while gas prices soar, and gave predictions for the NBA Finals and NHL Stanley Cup.

Below are some links to what we yapped about, and remember that you can listen to the show by clicking the Play button on the application at the bottom of this post or by downloading the show off of iTunes.

  1. I do not get the assertion that if someone voted for Obama, they dislike our troops. I find it disrespectful and insulting.

  2. Sorry to nitpick RJ, Lots of good stuff in there too.

  3. SKW-

Thanks for your thoughts, and I mean this with all due respect, but I’m not sure you were listening closely enough if that’s what you came away with. I specified multiple times that I wasn’t talking about all liberals and certainly not all Democrats. I’m saying that the far-Left, faculty of Berkley-Harvard crowd that has attacked our troops since Vietnam and done everything they can to undermine the military and its supporters must feel a little awkward around inspiring displays of patriotism or thanks directed to our troops. That’s all. No indictment of all Obama voters. Just a reality of a huge, key demographic that has a lot of sway and control in the country right now and certainly does among Democrats.

But honestly…thanks for listening. Keep doing so and keep posting your comments.

  4. Interesting listening to the other side for a little while. I agree with you regarding the government not wanting the price of oil to be lower but I don’t understand being against any green initiatives. Your boy Carolla said it best when he claimed that there is no downside to pushing these green initiatives. You may not believe in climate change but I don’t think that destroying some of the most beautiful land in the US is the right way to go about lowering gas prices and our ‘dependence on foreign oil’. Anyway, glad that you keep an open mind and I agree that we should listen to good ideas no matter where they come from.

What is “Mere Conservatism”?

The basic ideas, ideals, and values that generally define and characterize the central tenets of what today might be termed "modern conservative thought."

We believe that a proper understanding of history, economics, and theology leads to certain conclusions. Many of these are the same conclusions our Founding Fathers arrived at in constructing a "more perfect union."

All ideas and opinions are welcome; not all are correct.
