We love us some Paul Rahe here at AVITW, and so will you!

  1. RJ- I loved the Paul Rahe posting and watched all five parts. On Thanksgiving Day I was looking for something inspirational and found Ronald Reagan’s Farewell Address from 1989. It summarized so well what you are sharing on this website and what is going on in the nation today. We need not only the political knowledge, but a spiritual reawakening. This website has become one of my favorites over the past few months since I first discovered it looking for Christian classics on line and discovered Orthodoxy. Keep up the good work.

What is “Mere Conservatism”?

The basic ideas, ideals, and values that generally define and characterize the central tenets of what today might be termed "modern conservative thought."

We believe that a proper understanding of history, economics, and theology leads to certain conclusions. Many of these are the same conclusions our Founding Fathers arrived at in constructing a "more perfect union."

All ideas and opinions are welcome; not all are correct.
