A Voice in the Wilderness In Defense of "Mere Conservatism"

8Aug/12Off

Rob Long and Adam Freedman

Back-to-back weeks The RJ Moeller Show is opening things up with a little taste of Hollywood!  Rob Long is a television producer who has been in the business for nearly three decades. Rob began his career working on a little show called Cheers, and his latest project, co-produced with Vince Vaughn, is Sullivan & Son and is currently airing on TBS on Thursday nights.

Rob's weekly commentary "Martini Shot" is broadcast on L.A.'s KCRW and can be found on iTunes. Rob is editor-in-chief of Ricochet.com.

We chat with him about how starting a television show is like starting a small business, why the media dislikes the "Values" in "Values & Capitalism", and where things are at in the presidential election these days.  Follow Rob on Twitter at @rcbl!

Next up is our bi-weekly "News You May Have Missed, But Probably Shouldn't Have" segment with The Daily Caller's intrepid reporter, Caroline May.  She brings us tales of Olympic medal tax exemptions and the USDA cracking down on food stamps being used for "medical" marijuana.  Follow Ms. May on Twitter at  @c_maydc!

For our third and final segment of The RJ Moeller Show this week, we're happy to welcome lawyer and legal author Adam J. Freedman to the program.

It's a jam-packed episode, and one that you're sure to enjoy!

What is “Mere Conservatism”?

The basic ideas, ideals, and values that generally define and characterize the central tenets of what today might be termed "modern conservative thought."

We believe that a proper understanding of history, economics, and theology leads to certain conclusions. Many of these are the same conclusions our Founding Fathers arrived at in constructing a "more perfect union."

All ideas and opinions are welcome; not all are correct.
