A Voice in the Wilderness In Defense of "Mere Conservatism"

12Sep/12Off

Caroline May and Adam Carnehl

This week's episode of The RJ Moeller Show welcomes our good friend Caroline May, intrepid reporter for The Daily Caller.

Ms. May joins us every other week for a "News You May Have Missed, But Shouldn't Have" segment, but this time out she gives us her review of the two major political parties' conventions she covered for The DC the past two week.  From Tampa to Charlotte, Caroline May has seen it all and brings us an insider's perspective on the circuses that surrounded both

The second half of the show covers a subject near and dear to RJ's heart: Chesterton.  The most influential writer in RJ's life is a British, early 20th century bloke by the name of Gilbert Keith Chesterton.  One of RJ's best friends - a divinity student from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO - is a bloke by the name of Adam E. Carnehl.  RJ and Adam spend some time discussing the economic, theological and cultural views of one of the most important writers that most people know in name only.  From Orthodoxy to The Everlasting Man to What's Wrong With the World, Chesterton espoused a unique and compelling view of life, commerce, God and family.

It's a segment you won't want to miss!

What is “Mere Conservatism”?

The basic ideas, ideals, and values that generally define and characterize the central tenets of what today might be termed "modern conservative thought."

We believe that a proper understanding of history, economics, and theology leads to certain conclusions. Many of these are the same conclusions our Founding Fathers arrived at in constructing a "more perfect union."

All ideas and opinions are welcome; not all are correct.
